City of Jacksonville FAMIS Application Go Live at NWRDC

City of Jacksonville (COJ) has completed the migration of its Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS) to Northwest Regional Data Center (NWRDC). The application went live on NWRDC’s IBM z10 system on August 1, 2011.

Since April 2011, NWRDC Mainframe and Network teams have worked very closely with the COJ technical staff to prepare for this migration. Key representatives from COJ business units have participated in testing throughout the process.

The COJ FAMIS migration is a significant project. NWRDC’s primary focus is both to provide a more robust, supportable platform for customer’s operating needs, and to reduce customer’s IT capital expenditures through an affordable shared hosting environment.
